I am a Senior Lecturer at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University where I teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students. I am a member of the Cardiometabolic Health Research Unit at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University which is dedicated to exploring the most effective strategies for preventing cardiometabolic disorders. My research focuses on understanding the impact of chronic inflammation on cardiometabolic function in inflammatory diseases. Additionally, I undertake projects to examine how modifiable metabolic, cardiovascular, and lifestyle factors can influence cardiometabolic diseases across different ethnicities and animal models. I am also an Honourary Researcher in the Integrated Molecular Physiology Research Initiative laboratory at the University of the Witwatersrand.
