Abstract
The aim of this paper is to introduce the notions of (I, ψ)-contractions and present a related fixed point theorem for this type of contraction in the setting of metric spaces. This result extends and generalizes [12]. We give examples to explain our findings. Also we discuss an application to nonlinear integral equations.
