Abstract
As the summer holiday season rapidly approaches, travel may be on the minds of many South Africans. However, long-distance or international travel is not only for leisure and vacations. It may also be for family, religious, business, study, research, or employment-related reasons. When preparing for travel to different parts of the world, attention should be paid to health and safety. This article aims to provide readers with a high-level overview of travel-related health issues. Due to its limited scope, it should not be viewed as a definitive guide on the subject. Travellers are strongly advised to consult reputable travel agents and travel advisory services when arranging trips to chosen destinations. © Medpharm.
